I’m Romanticizing Winter—Here Are the Cute & Cozy Solo Dates I’m Adding to My Calendar

Winter has always felt like a season of in-betweens. The rush of the holidays is over, the days are still short, and everything feels quieter. In the past, I might have seen that as a bad thing—like something to endure until spring finally wakes the world up again.

But not this year.

This year, I’m choosing to romanticize winter—to see the beauty in the slow, to be intentional with my time, and to create little moments that make the season feel special.

And I’m doing that with solo dates.

Solo dates aren’t just about filling time—they’re about showing up for yourself, embracing your own company, and remembering that life is worth savoring, even in the stillness. Here’s how I’m making winter feel beautiful this season.

1. Slow Mornings in a Coffee Shop

There’s something so peaceful about watching the world wake up from a window seat with a warm drink in hand. I love the slowness of early mornings in a coffee shop—bringing a book, journaling, or just sitting there and being present. No rush, no distractions, just the simple joy of existing.

2. A Candlelit Dinner—Just for Me

I think we forget that meals are meant to be enjoyed, not just rushed through. One of my favorite ways to romanticize winter is by making dinner feel like special, even when I’m eating alone. Setting the table, lighting candles, playing soft music, and actually savoring my food instead of scrolling through my phone.

3. A Pedicure & Facial Day

There’s something about winter that makes me crave extra care—hydrating my skin, taking care of my body, and making time to just be. A self-care day with a pedicure and facial feels like a reset, a little act of love to remind myself that rest is productive, too.

4. Long Walks When the Sun Is Out

Winter can feel dark and heavy if I let it, so I’m making a habit of getting outside whenever the sun makes an appearance. Even if it’s cold, even if it’s just for a little while, fresh air and movement change everything. No distractions, just me, a good playlist or podcast, and the simple joy of soaking up the sun.

5. A Bookstore Date

One of my favorite solo dates is getting lost in a bookstore. Wandering through the aisles, flipping through pages, and letting myself pick something that speaks to me. It’s a reminder that I don’t always need to be somewhere or doing something—I can just be and let inspiration find me. I love buying a book that excites me and bringing it to one of my coffee shop dates.

6. A Cozy Night In

Not every solo date has to be outside. Some of my favorite nights are the ones spent at home—blankets, candles, warm tea, and a good book or movie. Oh, and your favorite cozy pajamas. (; It’s about being intentional with rest, not just mindlessly scrolling or numbing out.

Romanticizing Winter Is a Choice

I could spend this season waiting for warmer days. Or, I could slow down, embrace the stillness, and make it beautiful in its own way.

This winter, I’m choosing the second option.

What about you? Which solo date are you adding to your calendar?

Praying for you always,

Laura
